About the craft: Kantha embroidery is one of the oldest forms of embroidery from India. It is said to have first originated in rural villages of Bengal where women used it to strengthen old fabrics such as sarees and lungis creating patchwork pieces for the home or quilts. Recycling at its best!

About the fabric: We have repurposed a hand block kantha quilt sourced from a small family run atelier in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. A light/mid weight patch work kantha quilt was used,  each piece is one-of-a-kind. Small imperfections may be present which are a natural outcome of the handmade and ageing process and not faults.

We travel to remote parts of India to discover and learn about craft skills and textiles. We work with vintage, dead-stock and handcrafted materials. Therefore, slight irregularities are the natural outcome of the process and are not faults. They connect you to the process and story behind each piece.

Born on Our Family Farm

Designed and conceived in-house in Punjab

RELAXED FIT. MADE TO LAST DECADES. LOVED SEASON AFTER SEASON.

Born on our family farm in Punjab and made by hand in India, our jackets are designed to be lived in. Each piece has a relaxed, easy fit that layers beautifully across seasons. Sleeves can be rolled, hems hit at the hip, and there’s room to throw it on over a tee or a knit alike. Refer to the garment measurements above to find the size that’s right for you, or write to us at hello@loomandthings.com if you’d like a hand.

JUST THE FACTS

How is my Loom & Things jacket made?
Every Loom & Things piece is designed and conceived in-house at our family farm in Punjab. From there, our jackets are crafted by skilled artisans across India using heritage techniques — hand weaving, kantha embroidery and block printing. Most jackets pass through five to seven pairs of expert hands before reaching you, from the spinner to the weaver, the embroiderer, the cutter and the finisher. To see how we work and meet the people behind the pieces, visit our Process and About pages.
Will this jacket fit me?
Our jackets have a relaxed, easy fit designed to suit a wide range of body types. Each product page lists garment measurements in inches — comparing those to a piece you already own and love is the most reliable way to find your size. If you’re between sizes, size up for a more relaxed feel.
How do I care for my jacket?
We recommend dry cleaning for all our jackets to preserve the natural dyes, hand embroidery and woven textures. Avoid washing machines and tumble-dryers — they can stress the natural fibres. With a little care, your jacket will soften beautifully and last for decades.
Are your jackets one of a kind?
Some pieces are truly one-of-a-kind — look for the ‘One of One’ badge on the product page. Our handloom jackets are made in small batches, so while they’re closely matched, each carries the weaver’s unique touch — small variations in stitch, colour and texture that come with hand-loomed cotton.
How long will it take to ship?
UK orders dispatch within one to three working days from our London office. International orders ship worldwide with EU and US duties paid — no surprise fees on arrival. Pre-order pieces have an estimated dispatch date listed on the product page.
What is your return policy?
UK orders can be returned within 14 days of delivery in original condition; you arrange and pay for the return label. Pre-orders, sale items and international orders are final sale. Please refer to the Shipping & Returns section above for full details.
Can I see your jackets in person?
Yes — visit our London showroom to try pieces on, feel the fabrics and meet the team. Our Visit Us page has opening hours and the address, plus a list of stockists who carry our jackets across the UK.
I have another question. Who can I ask?
Email us at hello@loomandthings.com and we’ll get back to you within one working day. We’re happy to talk you through fit, fabric or anything else.
