Description:
Made using vintage hand stitched kantha blankets, the bags are designed for everyday comfort. Large enough to fit your laptop and everyday essentials. Comes with a zipped pocked and 2 open pockets with a contrast lining. A black piping has been added to bring out the age and details of the vintage fabric. The shoulder strap is held using metal rings to prevent damage to the fabric.
About the craft: Kantha embroidery is one of the oldest forms of embroidery from India. It is said to have first originated in rural villages of Bengal where women used it to strengthen old fabrics such as sarees and lungis. Recycling at its best!
About the fabric: We have used vintage kantha blankets for this collection sourced from Jaipur, India. A mid weight fabric with a soft aged feel, certain parts may feature fraying and patchwork which connects you to the unique story behind each bag. Each piece is one of a kind and is uniquely yours. Wear it proudly and treat it with care so it can be with you for many years to come.
Note:
We travel to remote parts of India to discover and learn about heritage craft skills and textiles. We work with vintage, deadstock and craft led materials. Therefore, slight irregularities are the natural outcome of the process and are not faults. They connect you to the process and story behind each piece.
