Introducing

The Founders

Label Pozruh is the brainchild of Aiman Sabri and was founded in 2019. With a Master’s degree from London college of Fashion, Aiman has since spent a lot of time researching and studying the aspects of sustainable practices in the fashion industry. With the growing interest in Eco fashion and as a designer; Aiman wanted to use ‘The power of fashion to make Eco cool’ and encourage people to shop with a conscience. Thus, Pozruh was launched. Label Pozruh was selected as a finalist at the Circular Design challenge award at Lakme Fashion Week India 2019 and it has rapidly grown ever since.

Meet the Makers

The Label strongly believes in creating a system which helps artisans and nurtures Indian crafts and textile heritage. By supporting artisanal practices and traditional techniques, not only does the brand help support communities, but, also reduces their carbon footprint. They have skilled karigars in their core team and have worked to upskill women in nearby villages in order to provide them with employment opportunities.

The Process

The brand uses natural organic fabrics such as hemp, handloom khadi and up-cycle techniques to develop their collections. Hemp fabric is an extremely sustainable textile that is naturally pest resistance, durable and long lasting. It is UV resistant, anti-bacterial and is grown using very little water. The fabric has a look of classic linen, which is great in warm and humid climates. The handloom khadi fabric is made without the use of electricity and dyed in natural indigo with a very low carbon footprint, making it one of the most eco-friendly denims available in the market.

Standards

The brand believes in supporting local craftsmen by focusing on using traditional intrictae embroidery techniques in all their collections. The use of handloom fabrics reduces their carbon footprint as they use no electricity. They only use low impact dyes for their prints and work with yarns that are made without the use of GMO or pesticides.
