The Choti vest is a perfect season-less and genderless piece that can elevate any outfit. It comes with an oversize fit to make it easy to throw over and layer through the seasons. See the garment length and chest measurements to find your perfect fit.

  • Made from a hand embroidered vintage kantha quilt. 
  • Lined with pure cotton hand-block printed lining. 
  • Comes with contrast binding details to elevate the base fabric.
  • Front buttons and slide pockets. 
  • Craft preservation.

About the craft: Kantha embroidery is one of the oldest forms of embroidery from India. It is said to have first originated in rural villages of Bengal where women used it to strengthen old fabrics such as sarees and lungis creating patchwork pieces for the home or quilts. Recycling at its best! 

About the fabric: We have repurposed a kantha printed quilt sourced from a small family run atelier in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. A light weight kantha quilt was used,  each piece is one-of-a-kind. Small imperfections may be present which are a natural outcome of the handmade and ageing process and not faults. 


We travel to remote parts of India to discover and learn about heritage craft skills and textiles. We work with vintage, deadstock and handcrafted materials. Therefore, slight irregularities are the natural outcome of the process and are not faults. They connect you to the process and story behind each piece.

To minimise waste, the vests may be +/- 1.5 cm in size which does not fundamentally change the style or the fit.

Garment measurement in inches:

2- 3 years

  • Chest (pit to pit) : 28 inches
  • Front length from collar: 14 inches

3-4 years

  • Chest (pit to pit) : 31 inches
  • Front length from collar : 15 inches
  • Hand wash on a gentle cycle.
  • Do not tumble dry.

All our materials are handmade, harsh detergents and vigorous washing methods can ruin the materials.
