About the craft: Kantha embroidery is one of the oldest forms of embroidery from India. It is said to have first originated in rural villages of Bengal where women used it to strengthen old fabrics such as sarees and lungis creating patchwork pieces for the home or quilts. Recycling at its best!

About the fabric: We have repurposed a hand embroidered kantha quilt sourced from a small family run atelier in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. A light/mid weight kantha quilt was used,  each piece is one-of-a-kind. Small imperfections or slight frays may be present which are a natural outcome of the handmade and ageing process and not faults.

We travel to remote parts of India to discover and learn about craft skills and textiles. We work with vintage, dead-stock and handcrafted materials. Therefore, slight irregularities are the natural outcome of the process and are not faults. They connect you to the process and story behind each piece.
